- June 20, 1-4pm, Underglazes
- June 27, 1-4pm, Crystal Glazes
A series of 3 classes for the beginner and new member to our club! The focus is on working with earthenware/low fire bisque and Cone 05/06 glazes. Discussion on supplies needed to start this craft, sourcing materials, introductory topics and questions answered!
The projects will overlap, so you will take all 3 sessions held a week apart.
Session 1 Brushstrokes...a 6” bisque plate will have various layers of glaze brushed on, plus decorative details of your own design. Clear glaze is added in session 2.
Session 2 Underglazes...a small bisque bud vase will be your background to try underglaze designs. Clear glaze is added in session 3.
Session 3 Crystal Glazes...the project is a bowl of some sort (selection varies) that will let you practice solid glaze brushstroke coverage and the use of specialty glazes.

Supplies/tools student MUST bring: Notebook and pencil
Cost: $31 for all 3 sessions is payable IN ADVANCE to Sun City Anthem Community Association, Inc. Place payment in envelope labeled with class title, class date, your name, and put in Treasurer's box locker #1. The deadline for making payment to retain your enrollment is June 6, 2024. Class fee is NOT REFUNDABLE after this date.
Enrollment limit: 12 members. We will prioritize newest club members, then all others as space allows
